Tri-ang R423 ~ BR Maroon MkI BSK(Corridor Brake 2nd) coach ~ boxed.
This vintage Tri-ang carriage comes complete with its box and is in pretty good condition for a 50+ years-old model; these things were built to last.
The original box is in pretty good shape; the only blemishes are a couple of minor sellotape marks and a little bit of wear.
The coach itself is mechanically sound, with all the couplings, buffers, bogies and wheels in good working order. The wheels are plastic, with metal axles and couplings. The axles are rather rusty but the coach still runs freely; replacement metal wheelsets might be in order at some point. The coach carries an authentic running number(35024) and there are no signs of wear to the numbers, or the British Railways decals/lining. I have given it a clean but I’m sure you’ll find traces of dust here and there.
British Railways began to introduce these vehicles in 1950 and a few preserved examples can still be found on the rails today, so a very versatile model.
