For auction here is a HORNBY DUBLO model number 4313 of a BR(WR) 11 Ton Gunpowder Van in Bauxite Brown numbered B887002. It was manufactured for only two years from 1962 to 1964 in small batches making it one of the less common Hornby Dublo Vans. It is in very good to excellent condition considering its age (at least 55 years old) no damage/blemishes whatsoever. It has open Brake gear and the wheels have been cleaned with the axles being lightly oiled giving a very smooth run. The box is also in very good to excellent condition considering its age. No dents, creases, tears or other damage. There is a small pencil price of “4/11” (almost 25p!) written on one end flap. In reality these Vans were used to carry Gunpowder for mining and quarrying purposes and in the autumn for fireworks as well. Based on a GWR design the Van carrying this number was actually built at Swindon in 1964 the last year of the model’s production.
