3D printed Coupling adaptor part for USA Trains, here with an Intermodal Container Gondola wagon – should fit other models with the same standard bogies. To accept Bachmann or LGB standard couplers, knuckle or hook and loop – NOT INCLUDED – for one end.
NOTE:-
You will need to remove the moulded USA Trains coupling arm, if somebody hasn’t already. I created these to fix a model that had been butchered to have body attached kadee couplers. While USA Trains couplers are great, I have Bachmann couplers on the rest of my wagons and this was the only way to fit any new couplings to this model. So offering the adapters here in case any one else needs them.
Simply fit a coupling of your choice to the adapter by carefully screwing it in and passing the spring tail through the hole in the retaining strut. Bend the end of the tail so as to follow the curve to clear the wheel axle.
Unscrew the bogie from it’s mounting, fit the adapter with coupling to the bogie engaging the lug in the groove and centering the hole over the mounting. Fit to the model and screw back in to secure – not too tight, allowing the bogie to rotate freely. The wagon body will be raised by 1mm.
We can easily print more in grey, black or white resin – grey shown.
You can paint easily if desired.
