Load Up with Re:LOADS!
Load up your Bolster Wagons with this UNCOLOURED British N Scale / N Gauge (1/148) Tarpaulin Covered World War One / World War 2 MARK V TANK.
The prototype was made by myself in 1/148 N scale following actual Mark V Tank plans, covered with a scale tarpaulin and then cast in resin. It will look great on your model railway, strapped or chained to a flat car, or on a multi-wheeled road trailer behind a powerful tractor unit.
The Mark V Tank was introduced in 1918 and saw service in the last year of World War One. Some were even used up into World War Two.
You can see the shape of two cabs under the tarp and you can also see the outline of the caterpillar tracks and the exhaust. It really looks like there is a tank underneath! The side sponsons are missing, as on the real thing they were removed for transport because the tanks were too wide to fit on rail wagons with them still attached. I will be selling some tarped sponsons separately on ebay soon.
You may need to have the right railway car or road trailer for it to fit and look right, and there may be some overhang on smaller cars.
Castings may vary slightly around the edges. Each one is down to get a nice finish and the edges will often appear a little different. Therefore size may vary slightly but they are generally about 55 mm long x 20 mm wide x 20 mm high. The tank will always be the correct scale size, it’s just the tarp edges that may vary.
ROLLING STOCK IS NOT INCLUDED. You are buying the load only.
This one is finished in it’s Natural Resin Colour, ready for priming & painting, but I also offer these pre-coloured in a selection of colours and shades. The coloured ones don’t need painting, but a wash of weathering will really bring them to life.
These loads have a MATT finish, simulating a Heavy Duty CANVAS.
Re:LOADS are not toys. They are sometimes small or may contain small parts. They are intended as high quality models for discerning modelers.
