Trix Twin Railway (TTR) Goods Train Set BR 1/324 with extra wagons and oval with siding track pack No 925.
The set is believed to date from 1958 as a dated calendar seemingly from the original retailer (Beesley’s of Coventry – Coventry Model Drome) was found in the box. The box is reasonable although there is some damage on the corners, the lid is partially detached where it hinges and there are a few of the wooden dividers missing. The original oil bottle, wiring and plugs are also missing. The wagons all appear to be in very good condition. The loco has a few chips to the paintwork but nevertheless looks very smart. I have tried it on my own Trix layout and it runs well. I have not tried the controller so it may be better to assume it is not working. The track pack is complete (as far as I can tell) apart from the Track Manual that Trix included in all their track packs. The track pack box is good but grubby and I would think that the track will probably need cleaning as it hasn’t been used for many years. I’ve only had a very quick look but couldn’t see anything broken and all the track appears to be in its original boxes. All in all a very nice vintage Trix set.
