I cannot emphasize more that this unit should not be used as is. It is around 60 years old and is probably a fire hazard. I have left this unit in the condition I got it in a couple of years ago complete with the mains lead without a plug.
The outer casing is in good condition without cracks or chips.
Could be used as a case for a modern DC PSU for authenticity on a period layout. Even so you should alway consult a professional electrician before attempting any work.
