Over the years I have collected and bought numerous Hornby and Triang trains, signal boxes, platforms and all manner of accessories. Some of these items dated from my childhood of the 1960’s and 70’s. I have decided to sell off some of my pieces. ALL MY MODEL TRAINS ARE BRITISH MADE WITH THE OCCASIONAL MODELS MADE IN AUSTRALIA AND NZ. These models are from another era. Sought after and collectable. Buy these models with confidence.
On offer is Triang OO gauge R3XD VICTORIAN RAILWAYS Train Set.
Both Locomotives (one is a dummy) and the two carriages are in superb condition. These are the best ones I have ever seen. Drive pinions on the locomotive look new. The driving wheels also look new. There are absolutely no signs of wear on them. Tread looks new. Photos don’t do it justice. Whilst these locos and carriages may well have been run in the past, from the condition it would not have been often.
There is some loss of transfers on the front of the locos.
The box is fair/good and the lid is fair. Someone has cut the lid for some reason (see photo).
The track is all in excellent condition. 12 curves and 6 straights. Series 3 track. First track offered after the grey track.
This train set is extremely rare and virtually impossible to find, particularly in regard to the condition of the locos and carriages.
MADE IN AUSTRALIA. This would have been made around 1960 by Moldex in Melbourne. Both Locomotives and both Carriages are ‘Made in Australia’. Box lid has ‘Manufactured in Aust’ but some of the rest of the writing in regard to origin has been obscured because of the cutting of the box lid. What still appears is ‘BROS LTD group of companies’. This would refer to Lines Bros.
I hope I have given a detailed enough description of this train set. I can’t add any more photos as the limit is 12. Please don’t hesitate to contact me for further information. It is unlikely I will ever see another train set like this, particularly again in regard to the condition of the Locomotives and Carriages.
