Our ref. 820.164This auction is for an unboxed Rovex Tri-angO-gauge battery operated RV256 Hymek Diesel Locomotive in British RailwaysGreen.The locomotive has been in storage forover 25 years without batteries installed (so there is no internal corrosion). After cleaning the patina off the batterycontacts the locomotive ran forwards and in reverse. The on-off and forward-reverse switches workcorrectly.As it has been in long-term storage thelocomotive would benefit from a good clean and overhaul.This locomotive has motors in bothbogies this does not seem to be the case on other examples listed on eBay, sothis is perhaps a modification? There isalso what appears to be an external charging point for the batteries fitted tothe lower sponson below one of the switches (see the photos). This facility is possibly also a modificationand has not been tested.The locomotive operates on 4 x D batteries(not included in this auction).The only known defects with the locomotive are as follows: When running in one direction only it sounds like the gears in one drive train might beslipping this could be an issue with the alignment of thegears or possibly worn gear teeth. This affectsonly one motor, and only when running in one direction. The lower cover for the motor on one bogie is missing The lower cover for the other motor is loose the screw to fit ismissing and at some point the cover was glued on. This glue has aged and so this cover is now loose it does not affect the running of the locomotive.Please see the photos for condition.We also have other HO/OO, N-gauge and O-gauge locomotives, rolling stockand accessories that we are listing now and in the coming weeks.
