The original book of ‘Locomotives I Have Known’ was published in 1959 and was followed by ‘A Further Selection of Locomotives I Have Known’ in 1962. This book is the combined edition from 1980. Rather than just publish the two books as they were, this publication has completely recast the order, setting out the locomotives roughly in ascending order of size so that the contents page can effectively act as an index, since in arranging steam locomotives, the wheel formula is the most convenient rough guide. 206 pages. Picture two shows the contents of the book. This is a large book with a net weight of over 1Kg.
