This Eaglesbush 6-plank open wagon isin mint condition and looks as if it has never been used. It will appeal to anyone who is interested inthe pre-nationalised Great Western Railway. The wagon is black in colour witha grey interior. On each side has itsowner’s name Eaglesbush in largewhite letters. It carries a runningnumber of 67, and the instruction in small white script Empty to Neath GWRy. The customary weight marking of “5-17-2 Load 10 tons can also be seen. There are also a couple of builders plateswith print that is too small for me to make out.
The underside of the black underframeis nicely detailed showing the various frame members along with the draw barand buffer leaf springs. It is fittedwith the latest insulated metal spoke wheels running on metal pinpoint axles. The box is in just about mintcondition too (Id rate it at 9.8 /10) see picture.
Any white on the top edge of thebox is probably flash bounce, whilst any apparent curvature could be due to thecameras macro setting used to take the close up pictures.
