Thoroughly researched, it has a potted history of the firm followed by sections on locomotives, coaches, wagons, accessories (including buildings etc), the Brassworks range and Underground Ernie.
It seems to be especially good on the limited edition items and helps the reader to trawl through the complicated variations of, for example, private owner wagons and boxed sets of them.
For each model, it gives a potted history of both the prototype and the model itself. You’ll find out if the loco, wagon or coach you’re buying was originally from Mainline or another source, if it has been re-tooled and an idea of its current value both in good unboxed and mint boxed condition.
