A GWR O Gauge Class 56xx Tank Loco. Probably Scratch/Kitbuilt, some years ago, from soldered tinplate with Brass Chassis, to a basic standard but well proportioned, fitted with a good modern Pittman Motor, and brass/cast metal fittings, and additional lead weights.
Has been a good smooth performer handling long goods trains on my layout (like the South Wales prototypes) being low geared, see photo no.10, taken at speed today.
However it has developed an intermittent bad connection with the contacts on the 3 rail pickups on my raised center rail track which may need attention, would also benefit from some tidying, superdetailing, better paint job etc. so the loco is being sold as a restoration project. The Pittman motor works fine. I’m going to concentrate on the BR Midland Region period.
Please study the photos as they form part of the description.
Well worth improving, or use as it is. A useful loco, not often modelled in O Gauge, particularly 3 rail. Would also suit a garden railway.
