I was the original designer of the Lightwork Ballast Spreaders, the OO gauge unit was compared by Model Rail Magazine against all the popular makes and was awarded the top marks above all of the others. They have been out of production for 18 months due to illness, I have now taken over all of the production equipment and I’m relaunching the Lightwork products.
This is our N-Gauge ballast spreader which due to the design holds more ballast then most other ballast spreaders. This unit also has our original concept shutter to switch on and off the flow of ballast making the ballasting operation very quick simple and not so messy, at the end of the line simply close the shutter and lift the ballast spreader off the tracks, the remaining ballast is stored inside the unit instead of running out over your layout.
All of our units are CNC laser cut and now routed with a newly developed routing machine that improves the accuracy of the track slots enhancing the performance of this product.
