Sought after and stunning – the fully engineered Modelux single road single span arch suspension bridge kit. This is designed to span a cutting or two embankments on your layout – it spans 500 mm and includes joining plates to allow 2 or more kits to be linked in series ( although you will need a central supporting pier to do this ) … the ends can be cut down to allow a slightly lesser span if you need to adapt it to fit into an existing layout.
The bridge will take a single road at OO and 2 at N – some of the photos show 2 kits as they look great side by side or in series.
The kit is manufactured out of 300GSM card which has been coloured and treated, and 1.3 mm multi-core board. It is incredibly strong and rigid once assembled, even though the deck is wafer thin… thin materials have been deliberately used to keep the scale proportions correct, unlike clumsy MDF alternatives … once assembled, the bridge happily takes the weight of a fully laden train.
The instructions can be downloaded – link provided.
You will need PVA and tweezers for assembly. Although fairly easy and straightforward to make, the engineered strength relies on accuracy of constructions.
The kit comes in a small cellophane packet designed to be sent as a large letter – the finished bridge looks stunning and you will be amazed at what can be created from the contents of an envelope!
