DESIGN: HST’s began replacing earlier Type 4 and Type 5 diesels on all principal non-electrified routes in the mid to late 1970’s. Forty years on, sets of eight Mk3 coaches with a diesel power car at each end operate on all non-electrified main lines, Great Western, Midland Main Line and Cross Country, as well as services out of Euston and Kings Cross where only part of the route is electrified. Probably the most successful product of the diesel age, forecasts suggest they could be in service for another thirty years.

LIVERY

Virgin Trains, the first train operating company for both West Coast Main Line and Cross-Country on privatisation in 1997, initially used a livery of mainly red with some black for its fleet of locomotives and coaches, including its HST sets.
HIGH SPEED TRAINS:

We specialise in providing quality High Speed Trains, including IC225 sets and all Mk3/Mk4 coaches, which are always in stock in different liveries – further details available on request. Savings passed on to buyers where possible.
GRADING (GUIDE ONLY)Most of our items are in mint or near mint condition and sometimes brand new stock is available.
