Vehicle introduction
The E10 tank-type locomotive that appeared in 1954 is the last steam locomotive made by JNR.
It was manufactured for the purpose of using it for the Itaya Pass of the Ouba Main Line.
The Ouba main line had plans for electrification, but its completion was delayed due to a lack of materials and so on, and a locomotive to replace the 4110 was required, so five E10s were manufactured.
After the Ohba main line started electrification, it was transferred to Hitoyoshi engine area on the Hijiri line and Kanazawa engine area on the Hokuriku main line, but finally it was used for small driving between Tamura and Yonehara in the Yonehara engine district on the Hokuriku main line. All cars were scrapped in 35 years.
