Prototype: German Railroad, Inc. (DB AG) class 103.1 express locomotive. C-C wheel arrangement. Regular production unit with double ventilation grills. The locomotive looks as the prototype did in Era V at the beginning of the 1990s with single-arm pantographs and a Chinese red paint scheme.
Model: The locomotive was upgraded with an ESU 62453 mfx decoder and a sound generator. 3 axles powered. 4 traction tires. The triple headlights change over with the direction of travel, will work in conventional operation, and can be controlled digitally. The horn as well as the acceleration and braking delay can be controlled with a Control Unit or Mrklin Systems. Length over the buffers 21.9 cm.

With LokSound you can run your engines smoothly due to load compensation while activating many functions and enjoying the original sounds as if it was the prototype. Of course you may also blow the horn or the steam whistle, turn on pumps or let the brakes squeal when stopping the engine. The combination of decoder and sound module in one unit allows for precise adaptation of sounds to the running mode. With 4 sound channels on the Loksound V3 there are no limits to creating realistic sound effects.

Besides the convincing properties of the LokPilot mfx, the LokSound mfx can reproduce the loco-typical sounds. It features a flash memory ship with a recording capacity of up to 65 seconds: more than enough to reproduce not only the actual running noise, but also those special sounds generated by air or water pumps, compressors, gear switching, brake squealing and other complex sounds. Integrated into our decoders are operational events, such as random coal shovelling, (even synchronized with a mini lamp in the firebox), station announcements, the squealing of a door, or the conductors whistle (“all aboard!”). Of course you can always activate whistles, horns, bells, or compressors with function keys.
