Marklin Complete Boxed Vintage Freight Starter Set 2963 60’s
Complete & Original working set in good condition including the box.The 2963 set appeared in the 1965/66 catalogue and is supplied complete with transformer.The box is missing both end flaps and the top is marked.It comes with an oval of Marklin M track.The locomotive (3000) runs OK but would benefit from a clean and lube.Please make your own assessment of the condition from the photos.
This is a collectable set which could be the basis of a start in a serious model train hobby with the biggest and best manufacturer of model trains. This track is compatible using adaptor tracks with the very latest Marklin tracks. Note that Marklin HO runs on 3 rail tracks and 14-16 VAC so is not compatible with 2 rail DC products like Tri-ang and Hornby.
*******Obviously the transformer/power supply is about 50 years old and should not be used without an electrician’s certification*******
