Our ref. 820.113Thisauction is for a used, un-boxed, live steam O-gauge 16mm scale Rheidol narrowgauge 2-4-0T garden railway locomotive TAL Y BONT”.
Thelocomotive is gas fired, with a tank charging port in the roof of the cab. There are twin in-board pistons; the outerpistons visible in the pictures are dummies.
There are no makers marks evident, possibly it is a Tom Cooper Merlin or Steamlines model? Thelocomotive is fitted with a single channel Radio Control servo on the regulator,but please note we do not have the transmitter and so this is notincluded in the auction. The auctionincludes only the locomotive as shown in the pictures. Thislocomotive is currently set at O-gauge (32mm) but the drive wheels can beadjusted to allow for re-gauging out to 45mm if required. The leading axle isfixed at O-gauge and would have to be replaced if re-gauging.
Thelocomotive has been stored for many years and has only had a light surfaceclean for the pictures it was well oiled for storage. It is in very good condition but wouldbenefit from a good clean. It has notbeen fired or tested prior to thislisting, but we can confirm the gas tank holds pressure. All the running gear operates smoothly.
The only visible fault is therear coupling has one side broken and will need replacing.
