Suitable for DC or DCC control
These kits are not suitable for “Loco 0” (analogue) on a DCC system without a decoder – they will quickly overheat and get damaged.
Because of the longer spindle the package cannot be sent letter post, hence the more expensive shipping cost – 1st class available please change the option at checkout.
This motor will enable much smoother and significantly quieter operation of the Lima 0-Gauge 4F 0-6-0 steam loco. With its puny current demand it is also ideal for battery remote control – ask me about easy conversion of your 4F to battery power with bluetooth control from your smartphone or tablet. (See my other items for the Bluetooth decoder) Visit my Book of Face page at: face bookc om/BatteryTrains (you should be able to work out what to type from that) for more on battery-powered trains.This kit contains a similar motor to the 12mm motor used for 00 models however it has a much longer spindle and larger gear to match the Lima 4F’s mechanism. The motor is very tough and you will be able to add weight to your loco to improve traction – however care must be taken as the motor is much hardier than the flimsy Lima gear-chain!
This kit consists of:Brand new, quiet can motorNew nylon gear to mesh perfectly with the existing Lima gear-chainSpacer tube to align motor accurately while it is glued in place. (Maximum of ONE spacer per order. Only one is needed for as many installs as you like.)
You will also need and be familiar with using a:
ScrewdriverSoldering ironHigh-temperature hot-glue gun (160 degree glue sticks recommended)
Alternatively use silicon or epoxy – but be careful of the latter in case the motor needs removal in the future.
