Thisauction is for a selection of Hornby Railways wagons made for the Australian market in1974 – 79
All 4 wagons are complete with couplings and original boxes.There are two models of the NSW brake van, the earlier R313 with standard plastic wheel sets and the later R389 fitted with “Silver Seal” wheels.
Both these brake vans are in “as new/mint” condition and have clearly never run on track.
The older R313 has “Tri-ang Made in England” name under the chassis whereas the R389 has “Hornby Railways Made in Great Britain”
The box for the R313 has one of the smaller end flaps missing as shown in the photosThe CIG Oxygen Tank wagon has “Silver Seal” wheels and is in very good condition but is missing the ladderI bought many of my Australian models (locomotives, coaches, wagons and catalogues ) many years ago from a serious collector living in Australia .
The price label on the end flap of the R312 Open Wagon C&A shows $1.75 a clear indication of its time in Australia but as with many Tri-ang/Hornby models their origins were in England.
The wagon is in very good condition.Pleasestudy the photos carefully as they provide a more complete indicationof the condition of the models than any description I provide
I have included copies of a couple of pages from the Australian Hornby Catalogues for 1976/78Ifyou are in the UK no need to pay postage from Australia (I already did that!) the wagons are located in the UK
