This is an excellent model example of the legendary “Flying Scotsman” built at Doncaster in 1923. This model represents the condition as it ran between 1924-28 with the LNER coat of arms painted on the cab sides and a Great Northern type tender. In 1934 it became the first steam locomotive to record a speed of 100 mph. This highly detailed locomotive is in excellent, unmarked condition and is a very smooth and powerful runner in both directions. It is powered by a Type 5 Ringfield motor which is located in the tender. The locomotive has a sprung loco to tender draw bar giving a smoother stop start. All metal handrails, buffers and couplings are complete.Nameplates and decals are also clear and intact. This would make an excellent addition to any model railway layout.Comes unboxed but will be securely packaged for shipping.
