Hornby APT Advanced Passenger Train, twin power cars, some issues, boxed, PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY- photos to be updated to include box and additional pantograph!
This set has twin power cars which both can run, but this is erratic, sometimes run, sometimes don’t and then when they do they have a tendency of tripping out the controller (although not the original one in the box which I haven’t tested) as i think they are drawing a lot of current. Needs a good model railway person to have a look at them! One pantograph is intact and basically fine apart from surface rust, another is included but has a part missing (I will include a photo of this in due course) not sure what, but pantograph will be there. The cosmetic condition of the entire set is generally very good, however there is some of the roof wiring on one of the power cars missing. On the driving cab cars, one has a broken bogie (could be glued back on with araldite), but it’s the rear one which doesn’t have any electrical feeds which makes life easier. On the whole set there maybe light wear here and there but overall it is a very nice example and rare to find one with two power cars.
It does come complete with the original train set box which is very tatty, I think has track, controller, Bernard cribbins record and paper tunnel – I need to confirm this in the next day or so, and the box is heavily worn with some rips/tears and bits missing here and there, but as I said I will update the photos to include the box once I have dragged it out the loft.
