Having difficulty painting a distant signal arm, and getting a crisp line for the black chevron? Now GWR and Western Region modellers are spared the heartache with these handy transfers designed for both the well-known and popular MSE brass frets and the Ratio plastic arms as supplied in their popular signal kits.
The transfers use photographs of actual arms, so include a wealth of additional detail. They are for the steel arms, first produced with a rib at the top and bottom of the arm by the Great Western Railway, and then the later type with the folded edge introduced around the time of Nationalisation. There is also a sheet of the less popular arms, which also includes a set of frames for people modelling the mechanical route indicators – these also include the mesh, as they are also based on a real photograph.
The transfers are the waterslide type, and need a degree of care when being cut from the sheet. A product as Decalfix is recommended for a permanent application.
