On offer, an unfinished gauge 3 (2 gauge) Pacific type locomotivecopper boiler. This is a fairly old typeof boiler as it is largely riveted construction. It is a very substantial piece ofboiler-making and most work has been done including all stays beingfitted. It is interesting as the fluetubes are swaged in, this is real locomotive boiler making. There are 8 x 1/4ID flues and 2 larger ones, one is orthereabouts and the other 3/8. I ampretty sure that this boiler would suit a gas or meths fired arrangementalthough it was probably built for coal firing. I feel the flues would soon get choked with clinker and ash. There are no bushes fitted as yet, thesewould have been almost certainly soft soldered in later during the build as wasthe custom when this boiler was started. I have added some pictures with the dimensions. Overall it is 18 long front to back. Due to its flat bottomed firebox this was almost certainlydesigned for the older style chassis with a cradle for the firebox, think earlyBonds style chassis for this boiler. It is well worth finishing and I have set a very lowstarting price. It can be collected fromPembrokeshire or I can send it via courier.
