FRED – Flashing Red End Device – a tail lamp that replaced the Caboose on US railroads from the 60s to today and should be on the end of any modern train. Also known as an ETD End of Train Device.
This is a working G-Scale model kit suitable for scales 1:29, 1:24, 1:22.5, USA railroad wagons.

Supplied as a 3D print in clear resin from our Formlabs Form-1+ printer, UNPAINTED, with a flashing red LED (warm white 3mm painted with clear red) and 3V battery (standard CMOS CR2032 wired with plug) included.
You can paint it however you need it – a Google search will show real silver, red, orange as well as yellow coloured ones. Painting them silver first helps light-seal them before you apply your chosen colour – leave the lamp glasses clear obviously.
Suitable for Bachmann Big Haulers, USA Trains, Aristocraft, LGB, etc. For indoor or outdoor use.
The battery can be glued or secured with a sticky-pad above the rear bogie, the plug can be glued to the side of the end coupler – or you might use a wire loop fixed into some pin-drill holes to attach it more robustly. Insert the plug into the base the other way round to hold the lamp with the light off when not required – simply lift off and plug in the right way round to activate again.
