41-202 Sir Theodore – c1930 Lined Black condition
This model is of the Beyer, Peacock & Co. designed locomotive Sir Theodore, built in 1888 for the Glyn Valley Tramway in Wales. This model carries a representation of the final lined black livery, and includes an open cab front and later details such as removed condensing apparatus and speed governor, and re-positioned lubricators.
This is a highly detailed scale model built using some of the most advanced additive manufacturing machines in the UK, with build lines less than 0.05mm thick. The design work has involved extensive research, including original manufacturers drawings. The finished model includes full representation of all the pipework and control rods present on the prototype, finished with and flush glazing, and a detailed cab interior included fitted crew figures. PECO GR-102 couplings are fitted in NEM pockets, and can be changed for other NEM compatible couplers. The model has been hand-built and hand-painted in the UK, using a majority of components from UK sources. Custom etch name and works plates are fitted to the final model.
Power is provided by a smooth and reliable Kato 11-103 chassis. The model will be tested and checked prior to dispatch, but will require a period of running in to embed smooth running. The model will negotiate 9″ radius curves.
