This GWR Furniture Container and Conflatwhich are in mint condition and look to be unused will appeal to anyone who iskeen on the pre-nationalised Great Western Railway. The container is brown with a grey roof. It carries thelegend GWR Furniture Removal Service from House to House Enquire at AnyStation in yellow letters, together with the fleet number of BK1828. Capacity information is given in smallerwhite print: To carry 4 tons, Tare 1-8-1-20, Capacity 720 Cu Ft. In addition there is other small print thatreads For Traders Adhesive Labels Only at the top right. At each end the container is the GWRshirt button logo together with the fleet number ofBK1828. The conflat is grey in colour with therunning number of ‘39005’ to the left, followed by ‘GW’ with the customaryweight markings of ’12 Tons Tare 5-18-2’to the right, all in white lettering. Smaller white script in the centre states ‘To be retained for GWR Containers* Chain Pocket Lids to be replaced after Chains have been removed’. It is fitted with black plastic spoked wheelsrunning on metal pinpoint axles. The box too is in mint condition – I’d rateit at 9.9 / 10. Anyapparent curvature is probably due to the cameras macro setting used to takethe close up pictures.
