ThisEccleshall Industrial & Provident Society Ld 7-plank open wagon willappeal to anyone who is keen on the London & North WesternRailway, later to become part of the London,Midland and Scottish Railway. It is inmint condition and looks as if it has never been used.
The wagon is brown incolour and on each side has its owner’s name and business details Eccleshall Industrial & Provident Society Ld Sheffield inwhite letters together with the instructions ‘When empty return to Manvers MainCollieries Ltd.’. It also carries arunning number of 4, and the customary weight markings of “Tare 6-2-3 Load 10 Tons” can also be seen.
The black underframe is fittedwith insulated plastic spoke wheels running on metal pinpoint axles.
The box is in just about mintcondition too (Id rate it at 9.8 /10) see picture.
