Provenance: This lot was part of a small collection of 5 boxed locomotives I bought in May 2019 at Warwick & Warwick. I suspect they have all been sitting unused for more than 15 years and they will need a thorough service before expecting them to run perfectly. I always have no-quibble free returns available in case you have any unexpected problems.
Body condition: Excellent. There is an added driver, but the fireman is missing and there in glue on cab floor where he was positioned
Running condition: This motor runs strongly in both directions drawing a healthy level of current (amps) when under load, but it is a “jerky” runner and will need a thorough service including lubrication and cleaning of all contacts. Otherwise, no overheating. No smells. No peculiar noises. No limping. Tests conducted using a 12V DC Duette transformer.
Box condition: Box is wrong
Servicing requirements: Before I sell a loco, I make sure the motor is in good working condition – checking that both the motor coils and magnet function well and do not draw an unhealthy ampage. I also check that the running gear – the rods, gears, wheels, tyres etc – are in perfect order and the loco does not “limp” or do anything peculiar. But unfortunately, I don’t have time to service them. Every loco I sell will need a normal service before use, involving cleaning of wheels, electrical contacts and lubrication of moving parts. This is usually a simple task and manufacturers recommend it is repeated at least every six months, or more on regularly used units. I’m happy to give any advice on servicing or maintenance! It’s a pleasure, please just ask.
