BRIMTOY Clockwork STREAMLINE TRAIN SET.
Manufactured by Brimtoy of London, circa 1938. From their range of 0 gauge toy trains.
Caricature of the L.N.E.R. A4 Class locomotive ‘King George’, No.8040. One of the few 4-4-0 loco’s in the range.
Lithographed tinplate, all metal construction.
Clockwork powered locomotive, tan & orange livery with yellow & black lining. Two matching yellow & red ‘Pullman’ coaches.
Mechanism with detachable key in lively working order, fitted with brake. Fitted with front buffers.
Structurally sound & complete, free from any dents, distortion & corrosion. The loco is in superb unmarked condition, slight oxidization to the tender chassis on the right hand side, which does not detract from the overall appearance, small scuff to one coach roof.
Overall; excellent +, bright, clean condition. exhibits little evidence of use.
Complete with all the correct wheels & coupling, this is an example fitted with die-cast driving wheels.
Loco, tender & coaches measures; 24″ (61 cm) long, overall.
Compatible with other makes of vintage tinplate O gauge toy trains; Chad Valley, Betal, Mettoy, Wells & Etc.
