Compatibility
N-Scale (1:160) Standard Gauge Models run on N-Gauge (9mm) track. For compatibility reasons, this gauge track is also used for British N-Scale (1:148) and Japanese N-Scale (1:150) models – so layouts built at this scale will be perfectly compatible with N-Scale Stock.
With regards to the visible compatibility of scenery items/buildings/etc.: N-Scale, British N-Scale, Japanese N-Scale, 000/2mm Finescale (1:152) and the common military modelling scale 1:144 are generally considered close enough to be visually compatible, so using N-Scale stock around items built at these scales will look perfectly fine.
Beware that 000/2mm Finescale Track has a Gauge of 9.42mm and is NOT compatible with N-Gauge stock.Fleischmann Product Numbers
Fleischmann have re-used their product numbers several times over the course of their history. As a result of this, some product numbers may refer to several different models produced at different times. Sometimes this is just a minor iteration in the design of the product – sometimes it is a replacement with a totally different item. To prevent confusion, please refer to the “Operation Number”, which is totally unique to each item, and is never re-used. Combining the product number with the years of production will also produce a non-reproducible index of the item, as two different models with identical product numbers are never produced at the same time.
