Chesapeake & Ohio H-4 USRA 2-6-6-2 number 1397 with Vanderbilt tender and DCC factory fitted. The model has been run on a test track in DC mode (I don’t have a DCC test track) and goes smoothly both forwards and in reverse, both headlight and back-up light working, but would benefit from oiling and more running as it has been static in a display case for several years. The box lid says the loco is class H-5 but it is an H-4 so may be in the wrong box! I don’t have another model of a C&O 2-6-6-2 so it must have been wrong when I purchased it. The exploded diagrams for the model are included as they may be of use even though they are for the H-5, which has a different tender
The C&O had a total of 150 H-4 2-6-6-2 Mallets and their appearance evolved over the years from their introduction in 1912. Almost half of the class was withdrawn by 1935 but the rest survived until the mid-1950s when diesels took over their duties.
Condition is Used. Dispatched with Royal Mail 1st Class in the UK. Overseas via Global Shipping Programme.
