This is a Bachmann Limited Edition boxed set of the Class A4 steam locomotive “Commonwealth of Australia” wearing the three different liveries that it carried during it’s lifetime:
LNER No.4491 in Garter Blue livery
BR No.60012 in Express Blue livery
BR No.60012 in BR Green livery
The set comes in a wooden presentation box with the Bachmann logo as an etched plate on the box lid. The box is in very good condition with a few minor scratch marks upon it.
The locomotives are all in very good condition, and have been checked to make sure that they run. The set is sold on the understanding that some initial maintenance and subsequent running-in will be required as the locomotives have not run a great distance for several years.
The only known mark on the locomotives is on the BR Green locomotive, where on one of the boilerside handrails, there is a small section that has come off.
The models operate on 12V d.c., and are NOT DCC Ready. Because of their construction, on the split chassis principle, conversion to DCC is not easy.
The postage cost may appear high, but this is due to the weight of the 3 locomotives, plus the substantial wooden box. As the total weight is over 2kg, we are not prepared to send the model outside of the UK, as this would make the postage costs too high.
