In 1999 I bought a Sandy River gas/steam/radio controlled garden railway locomotive in 32mm gauge. Requiring coaches I bought 7 Bachman G series coaches in 45mm gauge. I have converted all to 32 mm and fitted central buffers. This is the third coach to be sold and is “W.P.and Y.R” Royal Mail No 209. They have all been fitted with Brandbright solid steel wheels which run very nicely at a cost of 13 per coach (in 1999). They now cost over 30 for 4 axles. Unfortunately the garden railway never got built and the Coaches have spent the last 20 years in a glass cabinet.
