On offer is this original Airfix Series 1 “Level Crossing ” Bagged Construction Kit for use with Airfix Platforms scale HO & OO which has to be around 60 or more years old and therefore hard to find in a reasonable state.MADE IN ENGLAND..late 1950s early 1960s in very good condition for the age, complete and unbroken with complaints ticket.Please see the images for visual clarity.
According to the AIRFIX Collectors Club, the header displays one of the earliest known Airfix logos with the words Airfix Products in Plastics. The logo was originally based on a scroll with the two ends unrolled or turned back – see pictures. This was later incorporated into a circle which we are more familiar with.
This original logo was used throughout the early days at Airfix up until 1959/60.
