Replica class 46 D181 in BR Blue Livery – DCC fitted – 31-078This is an 00 gauge Replica class 46 D181 in BR Blue Livery, I think Replica or Bachmann Catalogue No 31-078. This loco is in good condition considering its age but read the following description.It has all its glazing and buffersIt has both couplings but no other detailing to be suppliedIt is now fitted with a Hornby R8249 decoder – hardwired, address is set to 181It runs well enough but needs a fairly high setting to start off, I found it step 12 on my Pridigy controllerIt is in the original box, which is a bit worn conditionNote, this is an older model, not from before the modern “super detailed” era, so please don’t expect all the finer detail we get now. These older models can stand up better to constant handling as there are none of the fragile details on then. But the downside is that they do not run as well as the newer technoligy models and are harder to fit DCC into.The loco has been in a box for several years, and although it runs well, I would still recommend it could do with a light lub service before being put to any serious use.This is as honest a description as I can give so you know what you are bidding on, remember the photos also form part of the description. If you want any more info or photos just ask.I test locos on a DC/DCC rolling road and I also have a DC shuttle track with curves to let them run back and forward to test them out. Most of the locos I am listing came from a large collection used on a loco shed layout so a lot have had their couplings, and in some cases also the pockets, removed. Also they have been used on shunting type moves and not on long runs.It will be well packed for posting.
