This small train set dates from around 1964. It is in very good condition, on the whole, though obviously the packaging is showing its age.
Loco – excellent, clean, full working order with no damage. It has the ‘top tank’ body with no markings and a rear coupling only. Motor runs forward only, brake lever in cab roof.
Wagons – correct for the set, with no markings as issued. All buffers, couplings, etc fully intact. Van roof appears to be glued on very neatly and a couple of the corners are slightly ‘nibbled’.
Key – brass, non-original but it fits.
Track – 8x Super 4 1st radius double curve (R483) – good condition, no missing fishplates or broken sleeper ends. Makes a full circle.
Box – pretty worn but complete. Base has card inner liner which is a bit grubby. All four corners of base tray intact – no repairs. Lid is fairly poor around edges but the three split corners have been neatly repaired. The other corner is still intact. Lid illustration just about perfect.
Instructions – none.
All in all, a nice little set representing a humble introduction to the world of Triang trains.
