Hornby R376 BR Class A4 4-6-2 No 60022 ‘Mallard’ in early BR unlined blue livery with BRITISH RAILWAYS on the tender. This model has bright metal handrails, close spring coupling between engine and tender, double chimney, tender drive ringfield motor, corridor connection to tender, white numerals, maroon wheels, etc. This is a Limited Edition of only 1,000 locos made for Kays (I believe) and this is No 90 – they were produced in Margate.
It is in pristine condition with no marks – one of the handrail stays has come adrift near the smokebox (see picture). When tested, it moved slowly in both directions and was quiet (a little hesitant and will probably need oiling). The box is complete but it is tired, with some sellotape used at 1 end. It comes with the Instructions (dated 1990), a Limited Edition certificate and a clear polystyrene container which protects the model reasonably well.
