House of DuddyPennsylvania E44 Electric LocomotiveO Scale – 3-Rail – Brass
House of Duddy, which ended production about 10 years ago, offered a limited line of Locomotive models and accessories mostly of Pennsylvania prototypes. One of Duddy’s first projects, the GG1, was acquired from the late Ed Alexander, a founder of th Train Collector’s Association. Later, Duddy acquired the tooling for these exquisite E44 freighters from the late Bill Wolfer, a connoisseur of high quality 2-rail brass models. But Duddy, who was a long time TCA member, also offered some of his products in both 2 and 3-rail.
Up for auction is one of the very few E44s made for high rail, produced around 20 years ago. The model appears to be complete and in very good condition (note that the couplers require screw driver attachment). On my short test track it operated well and with sound which I believe was provided by QSI. As far as price goes, Duddy offered these E44s for around $900, considerably above the starting bid here. The model comes in its original box which I will pack inside a sturdy outer carton for safe shipment.
